BOSTON, MA — October 20, 2025 — Perch Energy is pleased to announce the appointment of Chais Sweat as General Counsel, effective October 20, 2025. In this role, Chais will oversee the company’s Legal and Compliance functions, providing strategic guidance on corporate transactions, governance, employment law, and regulatory matters. He will also lead compliance and risk management initiatives, manage commercial agreements, and support the Perch Board of Managers and executive leadership team as the company continues to expand its operations nationwide.
Chais brings more than a decade of experience in the solar and clean energy sectors. He began his career practicing litigation and regulatory law at a Dallas-based firm before joining PosiGen as Associate General Counsel and Compliance Director. He later served as outside General Counsel for Sunpro, and in 2019 became the company’s first Chief Legal Officer and EVP of Corporate Development, helping grow the organization from $16 million to nearly $800 million in revenue and from a few dozen employees to approximately 4,000 before its acquisition by ADT in 2021. Following the acquisition, Chais led legal operations for ADT Solar and most recently served as Chief Legal Officer for Complete Solar d/b/a SunPower, a publicly traded residential solar company.
“Chais brings a rare combination of deep legal expertise and hands-on operational experience,” said Bruce Stewart, CEO of Perch Energy. “He’s guided several successful solar companies through periods of rapid growth and transformation, and his leadership will be instrumental as we continue scaling our impact and delivering clean energy savings and access to more households across the country.”
“Perch is at the forefront of expanding clean energy access for everyday consumers,” said Chais Sweat, General Counsel at Perch Energy. “I’m excited to join the industry leader and a mission-driven team that’s not only accelerating the adoption of community solar, but doing so with a clear focus on equity, compliance, and long-term sustainability.”
At Perch, Chais will play a key role in supporting the company’s continued growth following its 2025 merger with Arcadia’s community solar division — a milestone that established Perch as the nation’s largest residential community solar platform, with more than 1,000 solar farms serving hundreds of thousands of households across 16 states.
“Our mission to make clean energy more accessible requires strong legal and compliance foundations,” added Stewart. “Chais’s leadership ensures we’ll continue building that foundation with integrity, transparency, and accountability.”
