There's a solar farm at Gallaudet!

Construction of the solar arrays is nearly complete at nine locations on Gallaudet University's campus. Perch will help you subscribe to the solar farm and you could receive up to 10% savings, applied to your utility bill in the form of credits. No rooftop panels and no cancelation fee.

University employees and students are eligible to enroll ahead of other DC residents (priority access - pending availability). If you pay an electric bill and live in DC, you are eligible to save!

What is community solar?

Community solar is an easy way to support renewable energy and lower your electric bills. Small-scale solar farms are springing up all over the District—and there's one here at Gallaudet!
A solar farm was built in DC: Once it's connected to the utility, it'll send clean energy to the grid.
It'll generate monetary credits based on how much energy it produces: Credits are awarded thanks to DC's renewable energy incentives.
As a subscriber, you could earn some of those credits: Credits get applied directly to your electricity bill like a discount. Savings will vary each month based on your exact energy usage and subscription details.
