Why am I getting a Perch bill?
Perch acts as the middleman between subscribers and the solar farm owner. Community solar programs require you to pay for a percentage of the credits that your subscription earns based on the energy production of your solar farm. But you’re paying less than what your credits are worth (AKA less than the discount you got off your utility bill). For example, if you earned $100 credit discount off your utility bill, you may pay a separate bill from Perch for 90% of that, or $90.* We don’t keep this payment; instead, we pass it along to the solar farm owner. You net out with $10 savings that month.

When will I be billed by Perch?
Your Perch bill may come 1-3 months after you've already received credits for that given time period*. For example, if in June you earned $100 credit discount off your utility bill, you may pay Perch $90 for those credits in August—still netting you with $10 savings but not during the same exact month. It’s important to think of community solar as a program that helps you save over time. Because every month may not look the same.
